What time is it?
REGLA GENERAL
Para decir la hora, hay que decir primero los minutos.
TO =menos Past = y
En punto se dice: o'clock
Las seis Six o'clock
Las siete Seven o'clock
Y cuarto se dice: quarter past
Las seis y cuarto Quarter past six
Las siete y cuarto Quarter past seven
Menos cuarto se dice: quarter to
Las seis menos cuarto Quarter to six
Las siete menos cuarto Quarter to seven
y media se dice: half past
Las seis y media Half past six
Las siete y media Half past seven
Y cinco, y diez, y veinte, y venticinco se dicen: five past, ten past, twenty past, twenty-five past
Las seis y veinte Twenty past six
Las siete Meno diez Ten to seven
Menos cinco, menos diez, menos veinte y menos veinticinco se dicen: five to, ten to, twenty to, twenty-five to
Las seis menos cinco Ten to six
Las siete menos veinte Twenty to seven
Si los minutos no terminan en cinco o en cero hay que decir: minutes
Las seis y siete Seven minutes past six
Las siete menos seis Six minutes to seven
A las siete se dice así: At seven o'clock
A Las seis At six o'clock
A las seis y media At half past six
La hora es siempre singular en inglés
Para preguntar la hora se hace así:
¿Que hora es? What is the time?
¿Que hora es? What time is it?
TO =menos Past = y

ADJETIVOS COMPARATIVOS: IGUALDAD
Para expresar que una cosa es igual que otra utilizamos esta construcción:
as + adjetivo + as
Ejemplos:
- My car is as good as yours.
- That t-shirt is as expensive as the other.
- Her house is as big as mine.
Y para decir que algo no es igual que otra cosa:
not as / not so + adjetivo + as
Ejemplos:
- Her job isn´t so good as his. / Her job isn´t as good as his.
- Today the weather isn´t so nice as yesterday. / Today the weather isn´t as nice as
yesterday.
as + adjetivo + as
Ejemplos:
- My car is as good as yours.
- That t-shirt is as expensive as the other.
- Her house is as big as mine.
Y para decir que algo no es igual que otra cosa:

Ejemplos:
- Her job isn´t so good as his. / Her job isn´t as good as his.

ADJETIVOS COMPARATIVOS: SUPERIORIDAD
Para expresar que “una cosa es más ..... que otra” se utilizan estas formas del
adjetivo:
adjetivos de una sílaba + er adjetivos de 2 sílabas acabados en –y + er
short shorter easy easier
tall taller happy happier
fast faster heavy heavier
slow slower
big bigger
hot hotter
Observa que los adjetivos de una sílaba que acaban en “vocal + consonante” duplican
la consonante cuando se les añade “-er”.
Ejemplos:
- Paul is shorter than John.
- Planes are faster than cars.
- Exercise number 4 is easier than number 2.
more + adjetivos de más de una sílaba
beautiful more beautiful
expensive more expensive
interesting more interesting
modern more modern
Ejemplos:
- That house is more beautiful than that one.
- Gabriel is more intelligent than his brother.
- This book is more interesting than this one.
adjetivos irregulares
good better
bad worse
far farther / further
much / many more
Ejemplos:
- The blue skirt is better than the red one.
- The village is further than the mountain.
- I´ve got more apples than you.
